My Pictures

This page started out as a collection of pictures of me (alone and in groups) back when the only people who knew or cared that I had a website were people whom I didn't see on a regular or frequent basis. Recently it has evolved into a space to share pictures of the people and events that matter to me as well as pictures of myself.

The pictures are organized by year with most recent years being listed first. Within each year (or grouping of years) pictures are organized chronologically. For some reason this reversal of order makes sense to me. When I have a lot of pictures for a given event (like my trip to Hawaii) I've created a sub-gallery to feature those pictures.

The 2004 Photo Index: Today is January 2nd so it's fairly understandable that nothing has happened yet. In the anticipated event department Paul is moving to Ohio, I'll be getting a real job (tm), and visiting Ireland for Shaun and Ulrica's wedding and, of course, the usual shinanigans.

The 2003 Photo Index: A fairly low-key year with some amazing highlights. Paul lost his job, we went to Hawaii, I turned 22, I went to a family reunion in Colorado, Paul got a new tattoo, he turned 31, I got my first appartment, cell phone, and car, he graduated with an MBA, we celebrated our first anniversary, his first niece was born, my friends helped me buy a Dark Garden corset, and Paul hosted his second annual New Year's Eve party.

The 2002 Photo Index: The Winter Freak Out concluded; I turned 21; got an on-campus job so I didn't have to go home and could spend the summer dancing; I worked Santa Barbara Faire, Northern Faire, Marin Faire, and the Dickens' Fair with the hairbraiding booth; dressed up as Snowdrop and Mittens; met, started dating, and fell in love with Paul; Thanksgiving with Rachel's family; posed in the Dark Garden window; Christmas with Morgan's family; and a small New Year's Eve party at Paul's apartment.

    The 2001 Photo Index:
The end of my Sophomore year of college and the beginning of my Junior year. Also the year I was introduced to the Starry Plough, Gaskell's, The Merrie Pryanksters, and Friday Night Waltz.

    The 2000 Photo Index:
The end of my Freshman year of college and the beginning of my Senior year. I helped organize what turned into the Oregon Freak Out.

    High School Years Photo Index:

High School was, oddly enough, a wonderful span of time. I had a solid group of friends, went to a high school where teachers had time to care about their students, and was over-all very happy. My friends and I, while far from being the quiet ones, were the kind of teenagers your parents would ask you to invite over when they went out of town. No, really. Christina's parents used to insist she invite friends to stay over with her because they worried about her being alone.

    Childhood Photo Index:

I am the youngest of three children, the daughter for whom my mother hoped and prayed. I grew up poor in the Santa Cruz Mountains, but my parents always managed to put food on the table and warm clothes on our backs. I was in 3rd grade at Loma Prieta Elementary when the earthquake by the same name destroyed our house. Fortunately my parents were among the few with earthquake insurance and after two years of renting down in San Jose we owned a gorgeous house built in the footprint of the old one.
