Before I forget it all.... New Year's Eve

so I thought I'd jot down a few memories before they all faded together. I started hanging out with the group on New Year's Eve. Guerin had to come get me and so he was the only person at jennie's party who wasn't dressed up or in costume. Even gina made a token effort, going as Calvin and introducing everyone to her stuffed tiger Hobbes. Towards the end of dinner Guerin was feeling self-conscious (and henpecked) enough that he ran home and changed into his uniform. We cheered when he came back. At each of our places at the table Jennie and Cindra had placed an envelop which we weren't allowed to open. Guerin had tucked his into his coat pocket. When he changed he left his jacket. Fortunately Melissa hadn't been able to make it so there was an extra envelope for him. Jennie and Cindra had set up the house like a Clue game. In each room there were 3 white business envelopes with a quote in them and each quote was said by either a person, object, or room and by deciphering the quotes you could check people off. You were also given a couple of cards with pictures of rooms, people, or objects on them and then you could pull someone into a room and name an object and if they had themselves, the room, or the object...well, it worked like clue, right?

I'm not good at finding things. Jennie once did a treasure hunt in my house with clues aimed at me and I could never decipher the clues or find the next clue. It was embarassing. Cindra got it on film. So I comprimised and looked for clues, told people where the clues I found were (or at least I told velchan where all the ones i found where) and traded people deciphered clues. Apparently this strategy is particularly effective 'cause I won. Wes did it on the patio with a hammer. *shakes her head* knew you couldn't trust 'em southern boys.

Oh, did I mention that boys are silly? Before we started the game I changed out of my ballgown (the only formal outfit I had with me) except i'd only brought one change of clothing for the next morning so I just went around as prostitute noire, which i consider to be perfectly decent. I mean it's a lot more concealing than say jana's two-peice, less busty than renfaire garb, and goes post my knees. What's wrong with that? Eric walked around a corner, saw me, screamed, and ran back the way he'd come. Fox wouldn't look at me. Finally I felt so bad for making them uncomfortable I went and threw my real clothes on. None of the girls seemed the least bit bothered. speaking of girls, Jennie was doing her own little fashion show where every so often she'd change and put on a different outfit. She has some very beautiful dresses. And Velchan has very nice legs. She was wearing this short white dress that definately showed her legs off to advantage. I think the guys got mad at gina and me for commenting on that as well.

I can't really remember what people did the rest of the night. Some played Disney Charades which turns out to be really really hard and some sat around and talked. No one wanted to play any form of card games with me. Sigh. We turned on the tv at like 11:53 to see the ball drop and yelled happy new year and that was it. Gina, Christina, Wes, and I stayed up all night talking and playing phase 10. Anna's alarm went off at 7am just when we broke out the cards and we made Wes actually wake her up. Wes went to sleep after the card game, I fell asleep around 9am, and gina was next to me on the sofa bed when I woke up. Velchan just went home, got changed, and came back. She never slept.
