My own accounting of the social. Let's see how different it is from noires *g*

Everyone just left about an hour ago, so I better write this before I forget everything. I should be mopping, but I haven't had my post fixes lately so this sounds more fun.

We'll start with the first arrivials--Jarihn and Kel. They got here just in time to rescue me. I had the door wide open b/c I was trying to get some air circulating, so 2 hours before they arrived the chickadee that is a friend of the person upstairs had arrived without knocking and was driving me absolutely batty. I am forever in the debt of Jar and Kel for rescuing me from her. I tried to introduce them, but I didn't even know her name.

Anyway I don't remember what happened next, but I'm pretty sure Kel checked his e-mail and we just all kinda sat around looking at each other wondering what was going on.

Finally a couple of hours later Morio and DK arrived. Apparently my directions weren't very good and they'd been driving up and down the road. At least they got to the house though. Dk was a riled little kitty b/c Brian isn't a good driver to follow, apparently. But since she made it first she was doing more than a little gloating. Then the other car showed up. It really wasn't there fault that they took so long. They had just taken a slight detour over the "big ass bridge" (later named the "long ass bridge") into Washington. Really, I *would* have mentioned that bridge. I didn't know my highway signs very well I guess. So we were all here and we all sat around and talked and stuff. You should have seen Khel and noire and velessa. They all slept sitting up on the couch. Looked uncomfortable to me. Oh, I forgot the part about my neighbor Joseph yelling at everyone, asking who they were *lol*. I guess you just had to be here. And I can't forget the part about DK just plopping down in the middle of the floor and trying to fall asleep. I think she was growling at us.

The next day we got up and stuff and I made noire cook, even though she was very unimpressed with the contents of my kitchen. We hung around the house a while, then we went exploring. I took them up to the Column. When asked what the column is, my only response is The Column. They climed it and seemed to enjoy it. I watched. If you've been up it once there is really no reason to go up it again. I don't think dk really liked my driving. She kept screaming. And I know Kel didn't like my driving. I believe timid was the word he used to describe it. We found lunch, and vel took a nap on the couch at the restuarant, then we went walking around looking for a film store. I thought I knew where one was but I didn't. We found other stuff though. Down by the seafood market there were guys throwing fish guts to two sealions, so we watched that for a while. One of the poor seals had a blind eye and seemed to not be able to figure out where the food was coming from. They are HUGE creatures. Huge. And loud.

Then we went to the County Fair. Oh yeah!

I should mention at this point that they had walkie-talkies for the two cars to communicate with. I find this cool in the extreme and really wanted to use them, but no one wanted me to use them. I am very bitter about this. They told me I talk too fast and don't ennuciate my words. I think they are just jealous or something. Sooooo. . . . I had DK and Morio in my car, Brian had vel, noire, and khel with him. I don't know what they did, but dk and morio slept most of the way. This didn't stop me from talking to them though. I didn't realize Morio was asleep for many many miles. I finally figured it out when I asked him for my purse and he didn't respond. I thought he was awfully quiet, but that hadn't stopped me from chattering at him the whole way up.

Once we got to the fair we had a good time. At least I did. I loved Kenny Chesney. Master Andra and Khel *really* liked him. They were standing in their chairs screaming like little girls. Very, very sad. The concert finsihed way too fast, but that just gave us time to run around the fair. Almost everyone got either elephant ears or funnel cakes, then everyone else proceeded to steal all the whipped cream off the funnel cakes. Andra and Khel also did some nice rock climbing. Andra made it all the way up, but Khel didn't. We were having a fun time cheering them on.

We got home and watched the sillest thing I've ever seen--anime. Have you ever watched any anime? I hadn't, but I have now been educated. Can I just say it is the most riduculous thing I've ever seen? I really don't get it. These girls are in love with these guys then these guys turn into girl and they shout out things like Star Gentle Uterus!. Weird. I think I could be a voice on the show though. I would love to be overly melodramatic and make fun of it. Apparently that is EVIL though. Only bad people like dubs. We are very pure here and only have subtitles. This is a very important point. I have no idea why.

In addition to anime, the guys liked to play all these weird nintendo 64 games. I think Smash Brothers was the biggest hit. It was totally weird. The goal was to kill each other. Such violence!

Next day--more smash bros. Finally DK, Andra, Morio and I decided we needed to go to the store. We took a little tour of Astoria again and had a great time in the toy store. The owner let us play with everything. DK bought some stuff so I was glad. We acutally were paying customers. We also bought our black t-shirts around here somewhere (more on those later. . and sorry Jojo and Mike. . no t-shirts for you).

We found a nice little deli place to eat at. Have you ever had cheesecake on a stick? That was the best part of the meal. We went back to the house and gloated about eating good stuff, while they just had to have sandwiches (should I mention that noire and I had gone grocery shopping and she kicked the poor bag boy out and bagged our groceries herself?). Then it was on to Cannon Beach. We even consulted the tide tables and everything. It was a bit of a drive down but it was a fun time.

Cannon Beach can be seen in both Kindergarten Cop and Goonies. We actually went to haystack rock, a big rock that has tide pools. After my great directions (go out to cannon beach then go around a few curves then find a place to park) we actually did manage to find a place to park. The beach was pretty crowded, but that was ok. Most everyone went out to the rock since tide was out. I went a little ways, but then my shoes just got too wet and I decided if I wanted to get back I shouldn't go out any further. I don't really know what was out there. Jarihn and I turned to the right and we thought we signaled to the others that is where we were going. We spent a long time trying to fly his kite, to no avial. We finally figured out that the others seemed to have disappeared, so we went to look for them. By this time the tide was coming in so we knew they weren't still out at the rock. We found them and then we had a bonding momement. Khel wrote "Freak Out 2000" in the sand and we all stood around. Finally we found some guy to take a picture of us all, but then dear little dk refused to be in it. So she stood and watched the guy take our picture. It was an ironic moment.

Then the guys started piling up rocks. We aren't sure why, but they were. And other guys were pounding rocks against each other. I guess they were getting back to their roots. The best part: Dk and Morio decided to wrestle. Dk had been giving morio an awful time about being all skin and bones (he really . . .and he is a contortionist), but he whipped her hard core on the beach. She kept going down. It was great.

Then the little kitty decided to play with the kite string. Never let a kitty near string. She had it a mess. We speng hours untangling it. Everyone but Kel, Dk, and Jarihn decided to leave so we trudged to the cars. . . and waited. . . . and waited. . . and waited. . and waited. I think I would've left them there, but Kel had my keys cause I didn't have pockets. FINALLY we got them to leave, even though they were still trying to untangle that damned string. Notice how it was all the people from my car? Other than Morio of course. My car was very bad! Though we did have Madonna so that was a big plus.

We were all starving, so of course on the way back we hit construction. Andra's car decided to take a detour to get home faster. They had a map and I guess a map is all a guy needs. I was screaming at Jarihn to tell them they were idiots (they took the highway to portland), but they didn't seem to care. We sat FOREVER on the road. Jarihn decided to get out and go for a jog. Of course, dk instantly locked the door. Finally when it was time to go, Jarihn came running up (and that boy can flat out run) and tried to hop in the car, but couldn't and we were laughing so hard it was hard to unlock the door. We were very worried that somehow Andra's car would make it back before us, but, of course, my car won. By like 40 minutes even. Apparently they had found quite the detour. Should I mention again that noire kept telling me I couldn't use the walkie talkie? *bitter*

Oh, and all weekend Jario was trying to read SoD *lol*.

Ok, back to the story. We got back, cooked pasta, everyone was here. yadda yadda yadda. Brian is a great guy and washed all the dishes. I was happy. Then we watched Tombstone. That's a great flick. Khel and brian seemed to be obsessed with it.

Time for bed and sleep. Then the next morning we couldn't drag the kids out of bed. I think they finally started getting up about noonish. Too late to do anything. Then they put in that awful anime some more (Princess Monake) so I decided to cook tacos. Anyone like tacos? My fridge is FULL and everyone is gone now.

After that was over Dk, kel and I went to Fred Meyer b/c I had to get a new camera and we needed an iron. We had a good time, even though we were stuck on the bridge for an hour and it seemed like we would never get home. Maybe we should have broke out the Guiness that Kel got Andra.

When we got back we were able to rouse the troops and convince them they wanted to go to the beach. So two hours later we were on our way. We stopped at Sentry to buy wood, but guess what? They lost the key to the wood chest and we couldn't get any. So then we went to Fred Meyer's again.

My car was definetly the fun car on this little trip. We were trying to take pictures of the other car, but they were not cooperative at all. After everyone had been in the store a looooong time, Dk and I decided we needed a beach blanket. So. We went shopping. The lady tried to sell us a beach towel, then a tarp, but we wanted a blanket. We finally found one. I am now the proud owner of a Hot Wheels blanket. It doesn't seem to be flammable. We tried to talk to the guys from the store on teh walkie-talkie, but they woudln't answer. So we thought the volume wasn't up. Then they talked. And everyone in the whole store heard.

When we got back everyone was FINALLY ready to go, so off we went. We got to the beach about 9:45, and it closes at 10. that didn't stop us though. We got down and Brian and Adam built us a nice little fire. It just took awhile. We didn't have any little wood, so that was a problem. We roasted marshmellows and stood around the fire, then the police came and told us we would be towed if we didn't leave in 10 minutes. Brian, Kel and Morio disarmed the police officer and tied him up with duct tape, so we stayed a few more hours.

Ok, so we left. But not before the helicpoter could fly right over us. We wanted to ride in the cars as the helicopter towed us.

Home again, home again, jiggety jog. After Brian and kel left we pulled out the Hot Seat game and had quite a time with it. Oh, I forgot. Jarihn got his ball burned in the fire so that wasn't good.

Hot Seat is a very bad game *l*. It asks things like "what is the ideal female chest size" and "if you could date anyone in the group who would you date"? Fun stuff.

Then this morning everyone got up and left and I am sweeping my floor and going to finish cleaning and I assume Brian is going to come back sometime though he might go to WA. His plane doesn't leave till tomorrow.

And that is that. I know I missed a ton of stuff. I really can't even type in noire's quote. The "Jennie's got a great set of WHAT?" was a good one, but not nearly as good at her other.

Oh well, what the hey:

"She's just standing there: he did all the coming!"
--noire

Did I mention everyone in this group is *very* dirty minded? It is kind of nice to be able to laugh openly at the jokes instead of just thinking them in my head like I usually do.

Oh, and the t-shirts. We had a heck of a time getting the pictures to print. Kel had to go in and redo part of them. No one wanted teir t-shirt to be first, so I volunnteered. We read the instructions carefully, but scoffed at the part that said use a WHITE shirt. We also scoffed at the part about getting a bathroom scale to make sure you had 50 pounds of pressure.

Anyway, there is a reason you don't want to use a black t-shirt. I quickly figured out why. It doesn't show up. The instructions are right. Amazing how that works. So we are all a little sad that our big shirt plan didn't work out. The only sovenior left is the rock we all signed for Manda. I believe Adam is going to mail it *lol*.

I would love to impart more of the funny stuff, but it just doesn't translate well. Suffice it to say we had a great time with a lot of laughter. Btw, did you know vel wants a man with a strong hand? *lol*
