of course for some people the social ended on saturday: Don took a train home from portland and everyone left caly's house (though SK showed up after everyone but MA had left). From what i hear she's still sweeping the sand out of her living room. Sorry about that.
Jarihn and Morio are still social-ing as we speak, as Mori's flight isn't until 11something PM today (the 14th) and jarihoo volunteered (was volunteered?) to host him for the remaining days. I miss them, they're funny.
MA, i believe, caught a plane out of Portland this (yesterday?) morning
and i know for a fact he's home safe and sound already 'cause i talked

I just finished reading caly's post: it's certainly not what i would have written. I could go through and make editorial comments on her post but that (for me atleast) would be cheating. So i'm going to pretend i didn't read her post and write down my remembered impressions. Warning, this could take a while and considering that i'm tired and sad it might not be the least bit funny. We'll see.
I believe i left off when we all were at caly's house. Caly's right, khel vel and I fell asleep sitting up on the sofa, only it wasn't really sitting up it was more leaning over. I can't speak for them but i was incredibly comfortable. I got one armrest, khel got the other, and my vague memories were of vel periodically switching who's shoulder she was sleeping on. In fact, that's one of the reasons i refused to get up before nine -- Velchan was sleeping on me and i didn't want to disturb her. I remember when i did get up i got someone else to help me stuff a few pillows between us so she'd be in about the same position. She woke up, looked at us, and went back to sleep so i considered it a success.
Something you should all know as background information -- caly's house has a really small hot water tank. As the third person to wander into the shower i wasn't expecting anything in the way of hot water. Turns out what i got was ice water. It was so cold i decided to take a bath on the grounds that running water feels colder. It really does too. After a while we had everyone up but MA and Kelanin hadn't returned from the hotel room they were splitting. So we tried calling the hotel and no one picked up. A few minutes later we tried again. Then we tried a third time and finally gave up and tried MA's cell phone. Turns out they had spent the morning procuring a DVD player so that MA and Kheltan could make the rest of us watch Tombstone, a movie they quoted every time they were in the same room. They were looking for breakfast and said they'd come over if we had food. I told them we'd have something ready but apparently they didn't believe me 'cause they went out for breakfast.
Meanwhile, i made some quesadillas with what was left of caly's tortillas and scrambled eggs with the last of her eggs and most of her milk. Fortunatley we never had to worry about running out of cheese as she had just bought a whole block of tilamoook chedder *g* good stuff... While waiting the eggs got a wee bit over cooked and turned rubbery which everyone was nice enough not to mention. We decided to wander around downtown for a wee bit after that, specifically so DK could buy film from a camera shop it took Caly another two days to locate. We ate lunch in the same restraunt where MA and Kel had had breakfast and liked it alot. Vel accidentally ordered a whole stew pot (or so it seemed) of clam chowder while Kel and i skipped straight to dessert. Vel wasn't feeling good so she went to lie down on the sofa while we were talking, and the guys weren't letting me into their conversation (somehow all the girls had wound up at one end of the table and all the guys on the other) so i went to keep velchan company until we left.
We wandered down to the peir (about a block away) where we were just in time to watch the fisher men feed the unwanted bits to the seals. One of the seals was really big and mean looking, having a lot of scars and refused to hold still so DK and Vel could take pictures of them. The other seal had an eye that didn't look to good and he kept getting chased away from the food by the bigger seal. The bigger seal wouldn't even eat the food, he'd just steal it and it'd sink.
Vel and i decided to add a seal to the menagery(sp?) we're planning on having someday (we're going to be roommates, doncha know) but we decided we'd have to stea--ahem, attain it while it was still young and unscared.
That night Caly, Mori, Dk, MA, Khel, Vel and I went to the county fair over in Vancouver, WA. We're not sure what Kelanin and Jarihn did while we were gone but i believe it involved watching TV and they'd just started Escaflowne when we got home.
DK and mori went off to wander around on their own while we watched Kenny Chesney sing and entertain us. At one point he did a cover of a tracy lawrence song and tracy lawrence actually came out on stage so Kenny pretended to seranade him and they kinda danced together. It was hilarious. My only regret is that it was so short. Vel and I wrote new lyrics to "she thinks my tractor's sexy" for caly as we were leaving the seats:
She thinks his cabous is sexy
it really turns her on
she's always staring at it
while he's walking along
okay, it's not really creative, but it was funny at the time *g* Oh and MA and Kheltan were not standing on their chairs, screaming like girls. But considering some of the other things they did it wouldn't hae surprised me if they had.
Mori was incredibly troubled when he learned that not only had we never had an elephant ear before, we didn't know what they were so DK, Mori and I split one while picking off of vel and MA's waffle cones. We wandered around for a bit while MA tried to convince himself he was 14 again though i can't remember why atm. Vel bought a watch and we didn't have time to go on any roller coasters despite the fact that some looked like fun and Kheltan had never been on one so we needed to expose him. Next time we get together...
The drive back was pretty uneventful, all i remember is laughing a lot. Back at caly's house MA and Kelanin retired for the night and we watched a few episodes of Escaflowne, then a few episodes of Sailor Moon and went to bed.
It's really late now so i'm gonna make like my remembered self in the story and get some sleep. I'll write up more soon, i promise. That is i pomise as long as at least one person tells me how much they enjoy reading these 'cause i'm starting to think Julival is the only one who cares...
